We are in search of a dynamic leader with strong sales instincts to fill the role of Hotel General Manager at the Hilton Madison Monona Terrace. The Hotel General Manager will be responsible for delivering exceptional experiences and operational excellence. Success in this role will be determined by consistently achieving all financial targets and caring for our most important asset, our associates. Additional measures of one’s success will include the property’s continued prominence in the community, guest service scores and associate engagement survey results.

Set on the shimmering shores of Lake Monona, the Hilton Madison Monona Terrace, built in 2000, boasts spectacular views of the city and surrounding lakes. Conveniently located one block from the State Capitol and minutes from the University of Wisconsin, guests of the 14-story, 240-room hotel can enjoy the lively atmosphere of the adjacent Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center, partaking in its regular rooftop concerts, lakeside cultural events and art exhibits.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Embrace and ensure achievement of the property vision through well thought-out strategies and actions.
  • Create and maintain customer-driven operation, empowering hotel staff to excel in providing superior guest service and satisfaction.
  • Actively support the community to better serve our guests, our team members and the greater good.
  • Consistently deliver accurate forecasting and timely adjustments as required in staffing and other cost centers to ensure profit integrity.
  • Take initiative in creating new programs in response to market conditions and revenue generating opportunities (lead Commercial Team efforts).
  • Actively participate in sales presentations, property tours and customer meetings to ensure your team consistently exceeds client expectations.
  • Closely monitor the recruitment, hiring, training, development and orientation of all associates.
  • Oversee associate relations and provide leadership for all staff members.
  • Overall financial oversight and support of the accounting function.
  • Manage by “walking the hotel” inspecting guest rooms, public areas, back of house, kitchens, outlets and outside grounds for cleanliness and appearance.

  • Strategic thinker as it relates to business leadership and revenue management
  • Ability to direct marketing and sales efforts to constantly position property as a compset leader
  • Capable of gathering/analyzing competitive market intelligence
  • Experience as a Hotel General Manager or other key leadership roles within a full-service branded or non-branded environment is required (Hilton brand and systems experience would be helpful)
  • Ideal candidate will be located in and/or have experience leading hotel operations in Madison or comparable markets
  • A Bachelor's degree is not required but greatly preferred
