POSITION PURPUSE:

To protect all internal and external guests and secure and monitor hotel property and assets.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Be an Ambassador of the hotel to all guests, both internal and external, by being enthusiastic and embracing the Marriott and Marcus culture.
  2. Greet guests and associates and assist guests with navigating the hotel.
  3. Note and report unsafe working practices and recommend corrective action.
  4. Maintain logbook, activity sheet entries, and file.
  5. Participate in guard tour and other daily property system duties.
  6. Monitor security cameras for suspicious activity
  7. Participate on the emergency response team.
  8. Assist guests with key assists & safe assists.
  9. Answer the phone in a professional and courteous manner according to the property Standard and respond to guest and associate inquiries.
  10. Maintain the office in a neat and clean manner.
  11. Engaged with hotel surveys, including GSS, including possible assistance handling responses to the surveys.
  12. Attend monthly Safety meetings and various hotel wide annual meetings.
  13. Greet and identify visitors at service entrances, and issue and collect passes in accordance with procedure. Acknowledge departing associates and visitors and conduct bag checks if necessary.
  14. Control and account for keys and other equipment given to associates.
  15. Administer first aid/CPR and contact proper authorities as needed and prepare reports.
  16. Transport guests in company vehicles to and from various locations such as the airport while following and adhering to all safe driving practices and procedures.
  17. Lift, load, and carry luggage, packages, and supplies as needed.
  18. Maintain vehicle cleanliness and appearance, and/or filling gas tank as necessary, reporting any van mechanical problems to management.
  19. Witness Cash Drops
  20. Respond to alarms and emergency situations according to property procedures and remain calm and alert.
  21. Assist Guests and associates with opening and securing doors
  22. Follow all Marcus Hotels and Resorts policies and procedures, Marriott Standards, and Information Protection procedures.
  23. Effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts.
  24. Represent the hotel with professionalism and decorum.
  25. Other projects and duties as assigned by management.

     

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior hospitality, guest service and/or security experience preferred.
  2. Must be dependable and reliable to work a varied schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, holidays and the ability to work under pressure.
  3. Attention to detail.
  4. Must be able to effectively deal with guest and employee concerns in a friendly and positive manner.  This involves listening to the nature of concern, demonstrating empathy with the customer and providing positive and proactive solutions.
  5. Excellent interpersonal, listening and communication skills to include the ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English Language.
  6. Ability to stand and move throughout the front office continuously to perform essential job functions.
  7. Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
  8. Excellent interpersonal skills.
  9. Must have a valid Driver’s License and clean driving record according to Marcus driving policy.
  10. Must have excellent telephone etiquette skills.
  11. Must be able to represent the company in a professional, well-groomed and courteous manner.
