As a Cook at The Pfister Hotel, you will be responsible for the quality control of items prepared. Our Cooks work in an upbeat environment where you are expected to correctly prepare orders both quickly and efficiently. We are searching for all levels of culinary experience that can assist in our restaurants, in room dining and banquet operations!


Built in 1893, The Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee has been a hotel icon for nearly 130 years. As one of the best hotels in Milwaukee and the Midwest, we continue to celebrate a grand tradition of gracious service and impeccable style.  The Pfister Hotel has received AAA Four Diamond hotel status for 48 consecutive years. The hotel is one of only 11 properties throughout North America to maintain the AAA Four Diamond designation since the inception of the Diamond Rating program in 1976.


What you’ll be doing:

  • Prepare all station specific food items according to standard recipes and/or as specified on guest check to ensure consistency of product to the guest.  Visually inspect, select and use only food items ideal for the preparation of menu items. 
  • Check and control the proper storage of product (stocks and sauces needing special attention), and portion control size.
  • Keep all refrigeration, storage and working areas in clean, working condition to comply with Health Department regulations.
  • Ensure all equipment in working areas is clean and sanitized and in proper working condition.
  • Maintain high quality level of food production and presentation.
  • Cleanliness, sanitation and personal hygiene.
  • Responsible for setting up station, breakdown, and all necessary advance prep work.
  • Prepare all food items according to recipe specifications.
  • Ensure coolers are cleaned, organized and locked after work if finished.


What you will bring:

·       Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

·       Sufficient manual dexterity of hand in order to use all kitchen equipment, i.e., knives, spoons, spatulas, tongs, slicers, etc.

·       Ability to stand for long periods.

·       Ability to work in confined work area with high levels of noise and frequent interruptions.

·       Ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges.

·       Culinary or Apprenticeship program preferred.

·       Cooking experience preferred
