POSITION PURPOSE:
Service of beverage and food in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner resulting in guest satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Checks and maintains proper set-up and cleanliness of service station before, during, and after shift.
2. Greets guests in a timely, friendly, and courteous manner and explains all specials, promotions, and snacks.
3. Takes orders, reciting menu and drinks as requested, requires memorization of all available drinks and food.
4. Provides appropriate garnish with all beverages.
5. Inputs orders into point of sale system to inform bartender and kitchen an order was made in a timely manner.
6. Maintains cleanliness of guest tables and assists with the bar area.
7. Replenishes food and/or beverages as requested, frequently checking back with guest to inquire about satisfaction.
8. Presents the guest with the check promptly, thanking them and inviting them to return, so they will frequent the restaurant again.
9. Performs general cleaning tasks, using standard cleaning products as assigned by your supervisor to adhere to health standards.
10. Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested e.g., special guest requests.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must be 19 years of age or older to server alcohol.
2. Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages.
3. Knowledge of the appropriate table settings, service ware, and menu items.
4. Ability to read, sufficient to understand menus and special promotions, speak and write the English language to communicate with the guest, and take orders.
5. Ability to remember, recite, and promote a variety of menu items.
6. Ability to transport trays weighing up to 40 lbs. through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout shift.
7. Must adhere to all State, Federal, and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests to ensure all laws are being followed.
8. Maintain a positive attitude throughout shift.
9. Perform all assigned side work and complete daily checklist.
10. Work as a team player.
11. Ability to remain motivated during busy and slow periods within shift.
12. Cash handling and self-banking position, requires ability to maintain funds, and accurately count back charge.
13. Ability to operate a keyboard and learn point of sale procedures to pre-check an order and close out a check
14. No prior experience required. Prior server experience preferred.
15. Ability to obtain any government required license or certificate. TIPS certification required.
