SUMMARY:  Responsible, in conjunction with the Director of Sales & Marketing, for the management, coordination and execution of items related to all group and business travel sales operations of the Hotel, including all sales solicitation efforts for all market segments.  






Ø  Directly responsible for managing key customer relationships to assist in driving group business to the Hotel

Ø  Assist in supervision of staff, planning and development of market segments, contract and booking approval, sales lead assignment and overseeing sales efforts for all Sales Managers.

Ø  Assisting managers with account prospecting, solicitation and development via telephone, personal contact, outside calls, correspondence, email and other means of communication.  Conduct Hotel site inspections, entertain both in-house and off-property and maintain thorough follow-up methods.

Ø  Represent Hotel at trade shows, civic/business functions, industry-related associations and other events to promote the property and/or region.

Ø  Strategic planning, goal setting, yield management and other departmental activities to meet financial and sales objectives for the property.

Ø  Partake in annual budgeting process to support strategic plan targeted at exceeding defined goals




Ø  Review Business and Marketing plan/action plan at regular intervals

Ø  Review Reader Board activity and assign “owners” as needed

Ø  Plan and execute weekly solicitations

Ø  Plan short-term goals

Ø  Site inspections

Ø  Assist in driving marketing initiatives

Ø  Meet all deadlines assigned

Ø  Expected to contribute strategic ideas that will push business objectives forward

Ø  Has the ability to execute said ideas and take projects across the finish line

Ø  Expected to assist implementation of departmental improvements

Ø  Demonstrate flexibility and creativity to achieve sales goals for individual and team

Ø  Attend and, in some cases, run weekly meetings, to include, but not limited to: sales meeting, RevMAX, Owner P&L Meetings

Ø  Assist the Director of Sales & Marketing with projects based upon needs




Ø  Prepare quarterly action plans

Ø  Review goals for upcoming quarter


What You Bring:

Ø  Five plus years of upscale hospitality sales management experience, preferably in the Corporate or Association market and/or seven plus years of sales experience in related field.

Ø  Proven successful selling and negotiation skills, including prospecting, are required.

Ø  Knowledge of Delphi FDC and Passkey are a plus.

Ø  The ideal candidate must also possess excellent organization, task management and verbal/written communication skills.

Ø  Motivation and ability to identify new business opportunities and maintain a high regard for customer loyalty.

Ø  A successful candidate will be comfortable in a high-energy, service-oriented environment and be able to manage multiple functions and priorities.

Ø  The ability to motivate and manage groups of individuals.

Ø  Emotional Intelligence; the ability to get the very best out of all reporting managers and associates.

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.




Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports and legal documents.  Ability to respond to any inquiries from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.  Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or property ownership.




Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
