POSITION PURPOSE: To act as an ambassador of the Hotel by providing food and beverage, special assistance and information about local area attractions to customers and patrons, offering a wide selection of alternatives for guest satisfaction.         

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.     Recognizes customer immediately with a warm and hospitable welcome.  Identifies and inquires about guest needs to better serve them during the visit.

2.     Responds to inquires with accurate information regarding hotel features, services and assistance.  Knowledgeable with daily functions, VIPs and any other special event/s occurring in or pertaining to the hotel.

3.     Has full empowerment to make decisions and immediately solve any guest issue or problem.

4.     Fulfill the role of Honors Lounge Attendant by ensuring that all guests receive an engaging welcome, first class service, and the most pleasant comfortable experience possible.

5.     Check station before, during, and after shift for proper set-up and cleanliness.

6.     Replenish food and beverage as necessary and check with guests for overall satisfaction.

7.     Perform all assigned side work to include replenishing condiments and restocking service areas.

8.     Perform any general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned to adhere to health standards.

9.     Maintains cleanliness, sanitation and personal hygiene.

10.  Perform other duties as assigned.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

1.     Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will requires high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information to resolve conflicts.

2.     Basic mathematical and calculator skills to prepare mathematical calculations without error, e.g., purchasing tickets for guests.

3.     Ability to listen effectively, to speak and write English clearly.

4.     Ability to access and accurately use a moderately complex computer system.

5.     Ability to stand, walk, and continuously perform essential job functions.

6.     Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.

7.     High school diploma or equivalent required.

8.     Prior customer service experience required.  Prior Food and Beverage or other prior hospitality experience preferred.

9.     Staying up to date on cultural events and other changes in the Madison community.
